Aquatic Rehabilitation Program
Burch Physical Therapy, Center for Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation, offers patients the comfort of aquatic rehabilitation. Exercise in the water is an excellent approach for those who may not tolerate land based therapy. Many patients with diagnoses such as Lymphedema, total joint replacement, severe arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, CRPS, recent fractures and back pain may benefit from aquatic exercise.
At Burch Physical Therapy, we offer aquatic patients:
- 90° indoor pool with multiple depths for walking exercises and suspended, non-weight bearing exercises and/ or traction.
- Different depths including a deep water well, which allow the body to be submerged in water and can reduce weight bearing as much as 90%, letting patients move in ways that are not possible on land.
- Aquatic classes for maintaining status after discharge, as well as exercises to combat chronic diseases such as diabetes, coronary artery disease, obesity and arthritis.
- We are equipped with locker rooms and showers to complement your patients pool experiences as well as a chair assist for easier pool access.
